Lisa Long
Lisa Long was born and raised in Southern California and spent many of her happiest years raising her three children - Lindsay, Jeffrey, and Beau—in the countryside community of Windsor Heights in Riverside, California.

What began as everyday family life slowly became something extraordinary.

Life in the country brought unexpected adventures, unforgettable friendships, heartbreaking moments, remarkable miracles, and countless memories that friends and family repeatedly encouraged Lisa to write down. For more than a decade, she carefully reflected, prayed, and considered how to preserve those memories so they would never be forgotten.

Eventually, she answered that calling.

Every Windsor Heights book is based on real people and real events.
Rather than creating fictional adventures, Lisa chose to share the experiences that shaped her family's life, stories filled with courage, kindness, faith, perseverance, laughter, and hope.

Writing these books became far more than a creative project. It became a labor of love.
Lisa believes stories have the power to encourage children to dream bigger, overcome challenges, appreciate nature, value friendship, and never lose hope during difficult seasons of life.
Her greatest desire is that every reader, whether child, parent, teacher, or someone learning English—finishes each book feeling inspired and reminded that ordinary lives can become extraordinary stories.
Today, the Windsor Heights series continues to share those treasured memories with readers around the world, preserving a family's journey for future generations while inspiring new ones to create stories of their own.

Marian Long
Behind every Windsor Heights story is another remarkable story—the hands that lovingly brought each page to life.
Marian Long was born in Wyoming and raised on a Kansas farm before moving to Southern California as a teenager. Throughout her life, she developed a deep appreciation for nature, horses, and the quiet beauty found in everyday moments.

Long before Windsor Heights Books existed, Marian was already inspiring one very important little girl.
As a child, Lisa would often ask her mother to draw horses, flowers, animals, and scenes from her imagination. Those simple sketches became treasured memories that neither of them realized would one day grow into an entire book series.
When Lisa finally decided to write her family's true stories, there was never any question who should illustrate them. It had to be her mother.

Every illustration was created with extraordinary care and patience - not by a production team, and not by artificial intelligence, but by an artist who understood every character because she had lived alongside them. Marian poured countless hours into sketching, refining, and painting each scene so readers could experience Windsor Heights exactly as it was remembered.

Together, a daughter preserved the stories while her mother preserved the memories through art.
Their shared vision has created books that feel deeply personal because they truly are.
Each page represents years of love, family history, dedication, and the belief that meaningful stories deserve meaningful illustrations.

Marian hopes that every child who turns these pages feels the warmth, wonder, and joy that inspired every drawing she created.
These books were not created by a publishing company or generated by a machine.
They were lovingly written by a mother and beautifully illustrated by her own mother, preserving true family stories for generations to come.
